Longboard Skateboards

I am constantly asked what is a longboard skateboard? For all you skateboard veterans and newbies, a longboard skateboard is a longer version of a regular skateboard and is referred to as a "longboard". Longboards are most commonly used for either downhill racing, slalom, or transportation. Due to its longer and wider base, a longboard skateboard is more stable, making the ride generally safer and more comfortable than on a shorter skateboard. Also, their greater weight makes them less suitable for many tricks, but the greater weight helps to provide a more fluid motion by generating more momentum. Thus, a longboard will roll further with a single push of the foot.

Many people prefer longboard skateboards to normal skateboards for cruising on streets and sidewalks. Longboarding is also a way to kind of surf on land instead of in the water. It gives you the option to do big turns and quick short carves just like on a surfboard.
